Common Errors in the use of shall and will

Common Errors in the use of shall and will.

common errors in the use of shall and will

“Will” and “shall” are modal verbs. They are used with the base form of the main verb.

First Person Pronoun

In British English Grammar, ‘shall’ is used with First Person Pronouns (I, We) to form the simple future tense.

will اور shall صوری فعل ہیں. ان کا استعمال جملے میں بطور بنیادی فعل کے ہوتا ہے. برطانیہ کی انگریزی قواعد کے مطابق shall کا استعمالFirst Person Pronoun (I, We) کے ساتھ سادہ مستقل حال (Simple Future Tense) کی جملہ میں ہو تا ہے.

Example:              Subject (First Person Pronoun) + Shall + Verb + (Prep( + Object

1. I Shall go to school.
2. We shall go to school.
١. میں اسکول  جاونگا.
٢. ہم لوگ اسکول جائیں گے.

 Second and Third Person Pronoun

With Second and Third Person Pronouns (He, She, You, they), ‘will’ is used to form the simple future.
second person and third person (He she, you they) کے ساتھ will کا استعمال سادہ مستقل حال جملہ بنانے میں ہوتا ہے.

Example:

Subject (First Person Pronoun) + Will + Verb + (Prep( + Object

1. He will go to school.
2. She will go to school.
3. You will play match.
4. They will speak the truth.
١. وہ اسکول جائیگا.
٢. وہ اسکول جائیگی.
٣. تم مقابلہ کھیلوگے.
٤. وہ لوگ سچ بولیں گے.

However, when it comes to expressing ideas such as determination or threat, these rules are reversed. That means ‘will’ is used with first person pronouns and ‘shall’ is used with second and third person pronouns.

لیکن جب پختہ ارادہ یا عزم یا دھمکی جیسے خیالات کا اظہار کرنا ہو تو یہ اصول الٹ جاتے ہیں۔

Example:

Subject (First Person Pronoun) + Will + Verb + (Prep( + Object

1. We will go to Delhi tomorrow.
2. I will do it.

1. ہم لوگ دہلی کل ضرور جائیں گے.
٢. میں یہ کروں گا.
Exmaple:
Subject (Second / Third Person Pronoun) + Shall + Verb + (Prep( + Object

1. He shall go to Delhi tomorrow.
2. She shall succeed in the exam.
3. You shall pay for this.
4. They shall win the match.
 1. وہ دہلی کل ضرور جائیں گا.
٢.  وہ امتحان ضرور کامیاب ہو کی.
٣. تم کو اس کی قیمت ادا کرنی ہوگی.
٤. وہ لوگ مقابلہ ضرور جیتیں گے.
